The Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization has developed and launched the "World of Energy Interconnection" platform in Beijing on Tuesday, to further facilitate the world's shift toward a green and low-carbon future.

Based on the project resources and information data by the organization, the platform serves as a new engine for the energy and power sector that provides servcies including project promotion, communication and cooperation, resource sharing, conferences and exhibitions, it said.

The platform will enable construction of global power facilities and step up the world's shift toward a green and low-carbon future, said Liu Zhenya, chairman of GEIDCO, during the launch ceremony of the platform in Beijing on Tuesday.

Built on the increasingly developed Internet, IoT, AI, VR and other cutting-edge technologies, the platform focuses on key demands of current energy and power project development and exchanges and cooperation, which aims to establish communication and cooperation channels between online and offline, government and enterprises, investment and construction.

By virtue of GEIDCO's extensive networks, resources from interested parties can be consolidated, thereby offering new models of cooperation in energy and power infrastructure projects, and driving the development of new operational types such as big data services in the energy field.
