Launched in March 2016 with its headquarters in Beijing, China, Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO) is a non-profit international organization dedicated to promoting the sustainable development of energy worldwide.The purpose of GEIDCO is to promote the establishment of a Global Energy Interconnection (GEI) system, to meet global power demand with clean and green alternatives, to implement the United Nations “Sustainable Energy for All” and climate change initiatives, and to serve the sustainable development of humanity.

At headquarters, there are 6 departments including Administration Bureau, General Office, Operation Bureau, Development Bureau, Cooperation Bureau, and Resources Management Bureau, and two subordinate institutions of Economic & Technology Research Institute and News and Media Center. GEIDCO has 7 regional offices in Chile (South America), the U.S. (North America), Belgium (the Europe), Russia (Eastern Europe-Central Asia), Egypt (West Asia-North Africa), Ethiopia (Africa), and Thailand (Southeast Asia - South Asia). GEIDCO has 36 representative offices across the globe. GEIDCO has established the Advisory (Consultant) Board and the Technical (Academic) Committee made up 36 senior consultants and experts, including 13 academicians from different countries.
