Accelerating Energy System Innovation and Transition for Equity and Resilience to Advance Global Sustainable Development(2026-7)

The United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) serves as the central platform for follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It convenes annually at the UN Headquarters in New York. The theme for the 2026 HLPF is "Transformative, equitable, innovative and coordinated actions for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals for a sustainable future for all." The Forum will conduct an in-depth review of Sustainable Development Goals 6 , 7 , 9 , 11 and 17.

Advancing Capacity-Building and Standards Innovation for the Energy Transition towards Resilient, Smart and Inclusive Energy Systems(2026-04)

At present, the global energy transition is moving from vision to implementation. Capacity building has become a fundamental pillar for advancing a just energy transition and building sustainable energy systems. However, significant gaps remain across regions and countries in areas such as policy, technology, project development, and financing capacities, calling for more systematic and coordinated support.

2025 Global Energy Interconnection Conference (2025-09)

We are delighted to invite you to the 7th Global Energy Interconnection Conference, to be held on September 8–10, 2025, at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. Under the theme “Global Energy Interconnection: Meeting Global Power Demand with Clean and Green Alternatives” , the conference will feature a high-level plenary session, 20 parallel forums, a large-scale exhibition, and the release of key flagship publications and international standards—including the Global Electricity Development and Transition Report 2025. Over 1,000 participants from more than 40 countries—including government officials, leaders of international organizations, industry pioneers, and distinguished experts—will gather to share insights and build momentum for a greener, more connected energy future.

Launch Conference of Global Energy Interconnection Standards(2025-06)

Standards constitute the technical foundation, regulatory framework, and innovation catalyst for economic and social advancement. GEI standards are of paramount significance for energy transition and the pursuit of green, low-carbon, sustainable development. Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO), in conjunction with its member institutions, has formulated the inaugural batch of seven GEI standards, thereby addressing the international standards vacuum in the domains of clean energy development, transnational power interconnection, and related sectors. These standards are poised to assume a pivotal role in expediting Global Energy Interconnection construction and facilitating energy transition. On June 27, 2025, GEIDCO will convene the Global Energy Interconnection Standards Launch Conference in Beijing, China.
