Xin Baoan
Xin Baoan, male, Chinese, was born in October 1960. Mr. Xin graduated from Xi'an Jiaotong University with a bachelor's degree, and obtained a master's degree in power system and automation from North China Electric Power University. He is a professorate senior engineer. Mr. Xin is currently the Executive Chairman of State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC), and Chairman of China Electricity Council (CEC). He previously served as Board Member, President and Executive Vice President of SGCC, and Vice President of China Huadian Corporation.
Agricultural Bank of China
The Agricultural Bank of China (ABC), an enterprise incorporated in China, is one of the major integrated financial service providers. Association of Power Utilities of Africa
The Association of Power Utilities of Africa (APUA, or ASEA for French abbreviation), a non-governmental organization established in Côte d'Ivoire in 2012, aims to "bring together African power utilities and stakeholders towards making power more accessible, affordable and reliable for the African people." APUA is committed to promoting the development of African power sector. It plays among other roles of: collecting energy industry data; facilitating integration and regional trade, particularly through African power pools including coordination of regional power pool forum; promoting the development of renewable energy and rural electrification; improving the localization and standardization of the African electrical equipment manufacturing industry; organizing international conference convening leaders of African power sector every three years. As of 2021, APUA has a total number of 51 members covering 46 African nations. In addition, APUA has another 25 non-member observers from Europe, Asia and Africa.
China Electricity Council
China Electricity Council (CEC), founded in 1988, is a non-profit and self-disciplinary national trade association of China's power enterprises and institutions. With members consisting of enterprises, institutions and associations from China’s power sector, CEC aims to build a "Domestic Leading and International First-Class" industry association trusted and supported by the members and the government departments and recognized by the whole society. CEC positions itself as a bridge rooted in the power industry, serving the enterprises, linking the government and communicating with the society. It is a power industry organization with great influence. Currently, CEC has 1148 members, including 308 Council members. With 17 branch associations and 11 national specialty associations under its administration, CEC has formed a functional, coordinating, complementary and orderly service network covering the nation-wide power industry.
China General Technology (Group) Holding Co., Ltd.
China General Technology (Group) Holding Co., Ltd., commonly known as Genertec, is an enterprise incorporated in China. China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd.
China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd. (China Huaneng for short), incorporated in China in 1985, is mainly engaged in the following businesses: development, investment, construction, operation and management of power sources; production and sale of power and heat; development, investment, construction, production, and sale of businesses and products related to finance, coal, transportation, renewable energy, and environmental protection; industrial investment, operation and management. Currently, the company owns 58 secondary units and 5 listed companies with a total of 130,000 employees. As of 2021, the total installed capacity of wholly-owned and majority-owned power plants was 200 GW, and the production capacity of coal was 100 million tons per year. The company's total asset was close to RMB 1.31 trillion. As of 2021, the company ranked No. 248 in the Fortune Global 500 list.
China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd.
China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. (CSG) is incorporated in China in 2002. CSG provides power supply services for five provinces of China, and its power grids are interconnected with Hong Kong, Macao and Southeast Asian countries, with a total service area spanning one million km² and serving more than 254 million people. As of 2021, CSG’s capacity of transformer of 110 kV and above reached 1160 GVA and transmission line length extended 256,000 km. The number of employees is about 290,000. In 2021, CSG's operating revenue reached RMB 671.6 billion. As of 2021, it has been shortlisted in the Fortune Global 500 list for 17 consecutive years, ranking 91st.
China Three Gorges Corporation
China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG), an enterprise incorporated in China, is the largest hydropower developer in the world and the largest clean energy group in China. Its main businesses cover engineering construction and consulting, electric power production and operation, watershed cascade dispatching and comprehensive management, renewable energy development, international investment and contracting, environmental protection and conservation, capital operation and financial business, asset management and technical services. As of 2021, CTG has 28,000 employees, and operates power generation assets of 109GW in total installed capacity, with clean energy accounting to 100GW. With total assets reaching RMB 1.15 trillion, CTG registered revenue of RMB 136.5 billion in 2021, maintaining the highest level for credit ratings.
Climate Parliament
The Climate Parliament, a non-governmental organization established in the United Kingdom, is committed to combating climate change and accelerating the transition to renewable energy. With its London-based secretariat, it boasts a high prestige in global energy and power sector. Specifically targeting at the risks posed by climate change, the Climate Parliament provides members with policy research, strategic suggestion, expertise and opportunities to take action, as well as staff support and expert advice, and promotes national and regional action, so as to accelerate the global energy transition.
Edison Electric Institute
Edison Electric Institute (EEI), a non-governmental organization established in the United States in 1933 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is an association of electric companies with global influence, representing all U.S. investor-owned electric companies. EEI regularly releases information on energy, policy trends, and power industry analysis, helping its members communicate with regulators like the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC). Currently, EEI’s members cover all 50 states of the United States and Washington, D.C. It also has 70 international members and about 270 associate members of industry suppliers and related organizations.
Centrais Elétricas Brasileiras SA
Centrais Elétricas Brasileiras SA (Eletrobras), an enterprise incorporated in Brazil in 1962 and headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, is the largest power company in Latin America and the fourth largest clean power generation company in the world. It engages in the power generation, transmission and distribution business in Brazil and the remaining shares are traded in the United States, Spain and Brazil. Currently, Eletrobras has 13,000 employees and accounts for 40% and 69% of the Brazilian power generation market and power transmission market, respectively. According to Forbes' annual ranking of the world's companies in 2021, Eletrobras ranked 959th with a market value of USD 101 billion.
Hitachi Energy
Hitachi Energy, an enterprise incorporated in Switzerland and headquartered in Zurich, is committed to advancing a sustainable energy future for all. Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.
Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. Industrial and Commercial Bank of China
Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), incorporated in China, was established in 1984. ICBC aims to build a world-class and modern financial enterprise with global competitiveness by adhering to the principles of "delivering excellence, sticking to our founding mission, customers' favorite, leading in innovation, security and prudence, and people-oriented". Now, ICBC has approximately 400,000 employees and 421 branches in 49 countries and regions and can provide a comprehensive range of financial products and services to 9.7 million corporate customers and 700 million personal customers in the world. As of 2021, ICBC was ranked 1st among the Top 1000 World Banks by The Banker, 1st in the Global 2000 by Forbes, and 1st in the list of commercial banks of the Global 500 in Fortune for the 9th consecutive year, and took the 1st place among the Top 500 Banking Brands of Brand Finance for six consecutive years.
PJSC Rosseti
PJSC Rosseti, incorporated in Russia and headquartered in Moscow, is one of the world's largest operators of power grids. Rosseti maintains 2.4 million kilometers of power transmission lines, and 528,000 substations with a transformer capacity of more than 802 GVA. Rosseti supplies over 700 TWh of power for users. With total a total of around 216,500 employees, the asset portfolio of Rosseti includes 35 subsidiaries and affiliates. In the fiscal year of 2020, the operating revenue of Rosseti reached 1.002 trillion rubles (about 16.2 billion USD).
Power Construction Corporation of China
Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina), incorporated in China in 2011, is a global leader in clean and low-carbon energy, water resource and environment. It offers one-stop integrated services and solutions of investment and financing, planning and design, construction and contracting, equipment manufacturing, and management and operation of projects for clients around the world. Now, PowerChina has approximately 180,000 employees in more than 130 countries and regions across the globe. In 2020, PowerChina's operating revenue reached RMB 541.5 billion. In 2021, it ranked 107th among Fortune Global 500 companies, 1st among ENR Top 150 Global Design Firms, and 5th among ENR Top 250 Global Contractors.
Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA
Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (REN) is a Portuguese energy sector company which operates in two major business areas: the transmission in very high voltage electricity and overall technical management of the National Electricity System; the transport of high-pressure natural gas and overall technical management of the National Natural Gas System, guaranteeing the reception, storage and regasification of LNG and underground storage of natural gas. REN owns 8,049 km of transmission lines of 150 kV and above, with a total power transformation capacity of 30.2 GVA, and operates 1,296 km of high-pressure natural gas pipelines in Portugal. It holds a 45-year franchise for the Portuguese power transmission network and a 34-year franchise for high-pressure natural gas transmission network (from 2012). In addition, REN also operates some natural gas pipelines and power transmission lines in Chile.
Renewable Energy Institute
Renewable Energy Institute (REI) is a non-governmental and non-profit organization registered in Japan. Founded in 2011, REI’s mission is to build a sustainable and affluent society based on renewable energy; to research, develop and advocate renewable energy policies, measures and financial/business models; and to build up partnerships and networks with international/domestic organizations and civil societies. In 2011, REI launched the "Asia Super Grid" project, aiming to build a transnational interconnected grid in Northeast Asia via leveraging the region’s rich renewable energy.
State Grid Corporation of China
State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC), registered in China, was founded in 2002. It invests, constructs and operates power grids as its core business. As the world's largest utility, SGCC supplies power to 1.1 billion people with service area covering 26 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in China. In 2021, SGCC ranked second on Fortune Global 500, and first among top 500 Chinese companies. Over the past 20 years, SGCC has recorded the longest hours of safe operation for ultra-large power grids and completed dozens of UHV transmission projects, integrating the largest amount of renewables with the strongest transmission capacity in the world. It has successfully invested in and operated backbone energy networks in nine countries and regions, including the Philippines, Brazil, Portugal, Australia, Italy, Greece, Oman, Chile and China's Hong Kong. SGCC has been awarded national sovereign credit ratings for eight consecutive years.
Shandong University
Shandong University (SDU), registered in China, is a key comprehensive university with a long and honorable history, a broad variety of disciplines, strong academic strength and distinctive characteristics, exerting a great influence both at home and abroad. SDU has nearly 70,000 full-time students, around 4,600 full-time teachers. Siemens Energy, incorporated in Germany, has its origin tracing back to 1847. University of Birmingham
The University of Birmingham, registered in the United Kingdom, is a world-class research oriented university. As one of the founding members of the British Russell Group, the university has established major faculties, such as College of Arts and Law, College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, College of Life and Environmental Sciences, College of Medical and Dental Sciences, and College of Social Sciences.
