This seminar reveals the current climate and environment crisis, analyzes the significance and challenges of achieving carbon neutrality, and proposes GEI-based solution and pathways steering towards “Two Replacements, One Increase, One Restore and One Conversion” for achieving carbon neutrality.
In order to achieve synergies among governments, enterprises, financial institutions, think tanks, universities and other parties for a concerted effort on GEI research, investment and implementation so as to promote the development of GEI, GEIDCO has developed and built the first ever “World of Energy Interconnection” (WEI) – platform in GEI field.The Launch Conference will be held in Beijing on Mar 23, 2021.
Asia is one of the regions with the most exceptional development vitality and enormous growth potentials, and a crucial region for the development of GEI. In a bid to deepen energy and power cooperation in Asia and accelerate the development of GEI, the 2020 Global Energy Interconnection (Asia) Conference will be convened from November 1 to 4, 2020 with a hybrid format of the on-site and virtual conference, by GEIDCO together with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UNESCWA).
International Forum on Tackling Climate and Environmental Crisis share experiences and thoughts on tackling the global sustainable development crisis with GEI, which is important and instrumental for implementing the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, as well as building a community with a shared future for humanity.
On November 6, 2019 GEI & China-Africa Energy and Power Conference kicked off. More than 1000 guests from over 79 countries gathered in Beijing to discuss key issues regarding GEI and African Energy Interconnection under the themes of “GEI - A Path towards Green, Low-carbon and Sustainable Development” and “African Energy Interconnection - A New Growth Driver of Africa”, drawing a new blueprint for the world’s energy transition and sustainable development.
