On November 8, a practice case release and presentation activity themed with "Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace" kicks off at the 2022 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit. The Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO) demonstrates the World of Energy Interconnection (WEI) platform, a global digital platform for energy and electricity development and cooperation designed and launched by GEIDCO, which aims to facilitate the energy and electric power infrastructure development and Global Energy Interconnection (GEI) implementation around the world.

WEI platform is based on the energy field and steers towards sustainable development. It integrates the functions of project promotion, exchange and cooperation, conferences and exhibitions, and resource sharing. It is a comprehensive service platform built for governments, enterprises, institutions and other users. The platform displays the current energy and electricity development and project needs of each country, collects top-level design achievements from all continents and key regions, and provides users with solutions in project development, investment and construction guidelines. The platform opens up an online "bridge" between data services and both the supply and demand sides, provides users with "self-services" such as data and information sharing, application, and transaction, and encourages coordination between the government and enterprises, investment and projects, construction and consulting. The platform also breaks down barriers between countries and regions, promotes policy alignment and planning convergence, creates favorable conditions for energy interconnections in different countries and regions, and builds a new GEI ecosystem for common benefits.
The WEI platform was put into operation on March 23,2021 and is open to global users. The platform has gathered 347 clean energydevelopment and power grid interconnection projects, more than 1.5 millionpieces of information, and registered users from more than 100 countries, thusgreatly advancing the development of GEI.
The theme of Wuzhen Summit is "Towards a Shared Digital Future in a Connected World — Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace". Nearly 2,000 representatives from governments, international organizations, industry institutions, internet enterprises, and university think tanks of more than 120 countries and regions have conducted offline or online exchanges. This case presentation event is a key part of the World Internet Conference, which has been held every year since 2016. This year, the case of "Building WEI Digital Platform, Enabling GEI Development" submitted by GEIDCO is selected into the case collection of the Conference and released on site as one of the 12 high-quality cases.
