The Walloon government has expressed its commitment to developing a renovation plan that complies with the requirements of the new European Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings (Directive (EU) 2024/1275). To this end, a consortium comprising ICEDD, Enerdata, and 21 Solutions has been commissioned to update the current renovation strategy into a comprehensive plan that meets European obligations, in close consultation with stakeholders.
Drawing on its expertise in European regulations and renovation strategies across member states, Enerdata will carry out the preparatory work to analyse the European framework and assess the current Walloon renovation strategy. The objective is to identify necessary improvements, adaptations, and data updates required for the new plan.
Enerdata will leverage its extensive experience in collecting, processing, analysing, and visualising both qualitative and quantitative data, refine through a diverse range of projects. Notable examples include the development of energy efficiency indicators (Odyssee-MURE), the creation of housing archetypes (SEAI), scenario modelling for the evolution of real estate assets in relation to energy performance, and the calibration of simulation models for energy consumption and efficiency. As a specialist in energy and climate modelling, Enerdata will also provide in-depth insights into specific building sector assumptions and potential interactions with other factors, such as the energy mix.
