China: Developed the World's First 660,000 kW Ultra-Supercritical Circulating Fluidized Bed Boiler

On November 28, 2025, the world's first 660,000 kW high-efficiency ultra-supercritical circulating fluidized bed (CFB) power generation project celebrated one year ofsafe operation and successfully passed an authoritative review. All performance indica-tors met or exceeded the design specifications, marking a breakthrough in global industry standards. The project reviewed this time, titled "Development and Application ofHigh-Efficiency Ultra-Supercritical CFB Boilers" is a major national science and technology initiative led by Harbin Boiler Co., Ltd. and jointly accomplished by over tenorganizations under the guidance of the National Energy Administration. Since the project began power generation on November 27, 2024, its boiler efficiency has reached93.68%, maintaining long-term safe and stable operation. Emission indicators are better than national standards. The project's boiler equipment is currently the only thermalpower unit in the industry capable of maintaining stable main steam and reheat steamtemperatures at rated high parameter values from 25% low load to 100% full load. Theunit features outstanding thermal performance, flow efficiency, and ability to operate under special conditions, effectively reducing coal consumption during low-load operationand enhancing operational efficiency.
