Brazil: Huawei to Supply Energy StorageDevices for South America's Largest Micro-grid Project

Huawei Digital Power Technologies Co., Ltd. has reached a cooperation with UK-basedAggreko to supply advanced battery energy storage devices for Brazil's largest energy storage project to date, which is also the largest microgrid project in South America. Adoptinga photovoltaic-storage integration model, the project will deploy solar power plants with acombined capacity of 0.11 GW across 24 sites in the Amazonas state and install a 0.12 GWhbattery energy storage system. Huawei's energy storage solution will operate in coordina-tion with the new solar power stations to form photovoltaic-storage microgrids. Upon completion, the project will provide stable, clean electricity to isolated communities in the Amazonas region, while progressively displacing generation from local high-pollution thermalpower plants using diesel as fuel. The photovoltaic-storage system is expected to save about37 million liters of diesel and achieve a reduction of approximately 104,000 tCO2 annually. This collaboration highlights Huawei's technical strength in intelligent battery energy storage systems and strengthens its position to participate further in Brazil's energy transition.
