Think-Tank Alliance of Global Energy Interconnection

Introduction

On December 10th, 2018, on the thematic event entitled “Building Global Energy Interconnection, Promoting the Implementation of Paris Agreement" jointly held by United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO), Think-Tank Alliance of Global Energy Interconnection (TAGEI) was officially established. The first batch members consist of 28 well-known think tanks from 13 countries on 5 continents.

TAGEI is launched by GEIDCO, consist of famous think tanks who are dedicated to promoting the global energy interconnection (GEI). No membership fee is required. As an exchange and cooperation mechanism within framework of GEIDCO, all work of TAGEI are under the management of GEIDCO. TAGEI has chairman member, vice-chair member and secretariat, chairman and vice-chairman member hold 2 years rotating, the secretariat is a permanent institution located in the cooperation bureau of GEIDCO.

Background

The establishment of GEI is a major innovative engineering program that can benefit all the world, needs high-level think tanks to provide support of policy, theory and technology. TAGEI aims to give full play to the advantages and enthusiasm of think tanks in consultation and suggestion of policy, theory and technology. Adheres to collaborative innovation, mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, support and serve for the development of GEI, transformation of energy around the world and the sustainable development of human society.

Functions

TAGEI will organize its members to provide consultation and construction of policy, theory and technology in the field of electrical energy. Build a comprehensive platform for joint research. Promote exchange and cooperation among all members, jointly forward the innovation and development of GEI. Members of UAGEI can participate in relevant meetings and training, obtain information resource, and promote publicity.

Exclusive service for the members of TAGEI:

1. Conference

• Participate in the TAGEI Member Plenary, to deliver speech or talks, to exchange information and to promote cooperation.
• Participate in the TAGEI thematic Meetings, to conduct special conference speeches and to promote publicity.

2. Joint Research

• Joint investigate and survey, research, apply for project, release report and discuss with members of TAGEI on the joint research platform building by TAGEI.
• Join the theory, technology and policy research team of electric power energy and some relevant areas.

3. Advertisement

• Display and demonstrate members information in relevant activities organized by TAGEI.
• Advertise on specified advertising material assigned by TAGEI.

4. Information

• Obtain annual report, quarterly information，relevant research report or abstract of TAGEI.

According to the members’ contribution to TAGEI, obtain partial service of GEIDCO members:

1. Conference

• To be invited to participate in conferences and activities organized by GEIDCO.
• Co-organize meetings and events with GEIDCO.

2. Joint Research

• Joint research with members of GEDCO.

3. Advertisement

• Advertise and promote on social media platform, such as GEIDCO website, WeChat public account and Neng APP.

4. Information

• Obtain the abstract of research reports of GEIDCO.
